Palm Bungalows, Moni-Wolora

This is the closest accommodation to Kelimutu and it is just off the main road with a magical view of lush valleys and mountains, admist a rainforest setting. It is the only accommodation in Moni with HOT water. The bungalows are brand new and sleep 2 or 3 at a cost of approximately $15US (Rp.145,000) per night.

Getting There

Daily flights are available by Merpati Airlines from Denpasar (Bali) to the main city of Maumere or Ende. Flights take about 1-2 hours and cost roughly $100US (Rp. 971,300). Be prepared that flights can be overbooked, delayed, or cancelled. The alternative is a long trek by bus and ferry from Bali, across Lombok and Sumbawa. Combination tickets take you straight through, but you may want to break the journey - it's beautiful, and exhausting. A driver from Moni to Ende will cost $12US (Rp.116,500). One way by car from Maumere Airport to Moni (3 hrs) costs approx $38US (Rp.370,000). Wolora is a tiny friendly village and Roberto, your host will look after you as family during your stay there.
